Jean-Gabriel Pérès passes the torch to the new head of Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts

After 17 years at the head of the group Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Jean-Gabriel Pérès announced he would resign in the months to come, once a successor was found.

The board of Directors at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is officially seeking a new ceo. Until this nomination is made, probably sometime during 2016, Jean-Gabriel Pérès will continue as ceo for the hotel group. He will remain on the board of directors after leaving to support the transition in leadership. The priorities of the new ceo will be to improve the distribution and revenue management system, the integration of system, develop commercial activities, and continue to expand the supply through management contracts.

Jean-Gabriel Pérès should end his mandate on a particularly positive note. Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts signed close to 12 new management contracts in 2015, expanding its operating portfolio by 15%. Twenty or so properties are currently under negotiation. Mövenpick Hotels are present in 24 countries worldwide: the portfolio of the Swiss group currently has 83 addresses.

Under the direction of Jean-Gabriel Pérès, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts grew from being a primarily Europe-based hotel company to being a modern hotel group present on the continent, but also in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
