Alastair Thomann, former CEO of Penta Hotels, takes the reins of Generator Hostels following the acquisition of the group by Queensgate Investment. André Guettouche has been appointed Executive Director.
Alastair Thomann began his career as a consultant at Arthur Andersen after studying hotel business at the University of Surrey in England. From 2007, he held the position of Vice President of European Operations at Pentahotels, was appointed Managing Director Europe in 2012 and then Chief Executive Officer in 2015.
Senior Vice President of Pentahotels since 2016, André Guettouche has also held the positions of Director of Operations Europe and Vice President of Operations, after having served as General Manager Austria at IHG.
Launched in the 2000s, Generator primarily targets new generations and offers a lifestyle youth hostel concept. The group has a portfolio of 14 owned hotels, including 2 in development (totaling 8,639 beds) in the cities of London, Paris, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Miami, Dublin, Hamburg, Barcelona, Berlin (Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg districts), Stockholm, Madrid, Venice and Rome.
