Motel One Berlin Hackescher Markt

The properties at Hackescher Markt and the main station are now characterized by motifs in Art Nouveau and from the world of train stations.

While the Motel One Berlin-Hackescher Markt interprets Art Nouveau in a modern way, the Motel One Berlin-Hauptbahnhof is characterized by train station motifs in its design.

The two redesigns were realized by the artist Christine Schulz and the Tape That Collective and aim to present all houses in locally inspired design. Motel One has invested an amount of 15 million Euros for the redesign.

In spring the redesign was completed at Motel One Berlin-Hackescher Markt. The chosen combination of materials, colors and shapes is meant to reflect the character of the buildings in the surrounding area. The collages and tape art works of the Berlin artist collective Tape That Collective reinterpret the language of Art Nouveau. In addition, Motel One takes up the theme of sustainability in its design with an upcycling workbench by designer Piet Hein Eek.
