The Iberik Hoteles chain plans to invest 8.5 million euros in the renovation of the emblematic Gran Hotel Balneario de Guitiriz with the aim of reopening it in the first half of 2023.
Spanish hotel operator Iberik Hoteles has acquired the century-old Gran Hotel Balneario de Guitiriz during 2021. It has announced its intention to invest more than €8 million to renovate it before reopening it to the public by early next year.
This investment of a substantial amount of 8.5 million euros will be used, among other things, to "bring the facilities of one of Europe's benchmarks in the field of health tourism up to standard".
The Gran Hotel Balneario de Guitiriz is located halfway between A Coruña and Lugo. Its facilities cover an area of over 40 hectares in a natural setting.
This emblematic complex of the region includes a hotel with 103 rooms, a spa, a club house and a 9-hole golf course, among others.
The adaptation work is focused on improving each of the areas of the complex in order to offer its customers the latest in spa tourism, thanks to a project that includes the incorporation of renewable energy.
