Courtyard by Marriott presents its new design concept for European hotels with the recently renovated Courtyard Berlin City Center. This establishment is the first to feature the brand's new "European Spirit" signature.
Courtyard by Marriott defines its new design concept as follows: "This design evolution is based on the subtle use of natural materials, fresh and colourful textiles, offering modern and timeless finishes. This approach creates an environment that is both functional and contemporary, capturing the essence of a design common to all hotels in Europe and revealing local decorative details."
Designed by the Swedish interior design group Living Design Sweden, the Courtyard Berlin City Center brings this innovative vision of design to life.
The hotel has 267 rooms, studios and one-bedroom flats, all with kitchenettes. The renovations focused on the intelligent organisation of space and functionality. With a soothing palette of neutral tones, the upscale rooms celebrate the local atmosphere and destination through wall prints and a mirrored panel depicting Berlin's iconic skyline. Beds feature green leather headboards and blue vinyl floors are responsibly made from recycled materials and incorporate sound insulation from coconut fibre. The introduction of a new RFID locking system allows guests to access their room using a digital key via the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app.
The hotel has a fitness centre which includes a dedicated weightlifting area, equipped with Technogym and Skillrow applications and a hydration station.
"The unveiling of Courtyard by Marriott's new vision at Courtyard Berlin City Center illustrates the continued evolution of our iconic brand to better serve our guests and members. By 2024, we plan to open five hotels featuring this new design. These reimagined design standards demonstrate our commitment to creating a contemporary, design-led space for leisure and business travellers to connect, socialise and enjoy their stay, while capturing the unique essence of each destination." - Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium and Select Brands, Europe, Middle East and Africa
The Courtyard Berlin City Center paves the way for a series of five future hotels, illustrating the brand's design evolution across Europe between now and 2024. This expansion includes the soon-to-be-launched Courtyard Biel/Bienne in Switzerland, followed by Courtyard Yerevan in Armenia, Courtyard Lyon East in France, Courtyard Milan Linate and Courtyard Turin in Italy.
