As baby boomers in France are retiring one after the other, the market and available income for this demographic is growing, as is attention from the tourism industry.

The National Agency for Vacation-Vouchers (ANCV) and the National Retirement Fund (CNAV) today announced a joint partnership that will facilitate senior citizens in France to go on holiday, an initiative that will directly touch the hotel industry. The two establishments specified this morning that one out of three French citizens will be over the age of 60 in 2040, and more than 10 million French will be over the age of 75, making them a demographic to be reckoned with, especially with the "Seniors and Vacations" programme in place that will equip retired people with available cash to be spent in hotels. With a life expectancy of 81, France is only 13 of the top 15 countries with the highest life expectancy. Very populated countries like Japan (#5), Singapore (#7), Australia (#9), Italy (#10), and Canada (#12) fared higher, sending a signal to the hotel industry that they might want to create a product specifically geared towards senior citizens and market it internationally. With a life expectancy of 81, France is only 13 of the top 15 countries with the highest life expectancy.
