
Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson is to replace Tom Singer as the hotel group's Chief Financial Officer.Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson, who joined IHG in 2004 and held several senior positions before becoming Chief Financial Officer of IHG's Europe and Asia, Middle East & Africa regions. Along with the new position as group CFO, Edgecliffe-Johnson will become a Board Member as well. Tom Singer, who joined the hotel group in 2008 as Group Finance Director, later becoming Chief Financial Officer and a Member of the Board, Tom Singer will be stepping down from these positions on January 1st 2014.Richard Solomons, Chief Executive Officer of IHG regret's Mr. Singer's parting, as he was a great support during the execution of the group's asset light strategy and "played a key role in supporting IHG's financial success". However, Solomons also recognizes Edgecliffe-Johnson's "breadth of experience across a number of senior roles and a proven track record of delivering excellent results", looking forward to seeing him in his new role.
