The first property of the Golden Tulip brand opens in Serbia, in the heart of the capital Belgrade.
The 130-room hotel, spread over four floors, is a historic place that has undergone a complete renovation. Hotel Zira is a "famous and popular place for locals and international tourists" in Belgrade. It is scheduled to reopen on 10 February 2020. In addition to the rooms, it offers a restaurant serving Mediterranean and local (Serbian) cuisine.
Radomir Živanić, Director of Hotel Zira, testified in an official statement:
Since its opening more than 10 years ago, Hotel Zira is well known among business travellers who enjoy convenient location, great food and wine selection and conferences. We are very proud that Louvre Hotels Group, which as a great experience in hotel management, choose us to as first partner in the region. We believe Zira can become Belgrade's favourite hotel not only for businessmen, but city explorers as well.
Adam Konieczny, Director of European Development at Louvre Hotels Group, said:
We are very pleased to sign and soon open a flagship Golden Tulip hotel in Serbia. Belgrade is an important city and part of One Belt One Road initiative with a growing number of international travellers including guests from China. Design-oriented Hotel Zira with its great food & beverage facilities will be a perfect addition to our portfolio.
The hotel joins the portfolio of the Golden Tulip brand, part of the Louvre Hotels Group (which belongs to Jin Jiang International), which has nearly thirty hotels in Eastern Europe.
On a larger scale, the Golden Tulip brand had 102 hotels in Europe as of January 1, 2020, joining the 1,226 hotels of the Chinese group, Jin Jiang International, placing it in second place in the Hospitality ON 2020 ranking (Hospitality ON data).
