With this second property in the archipelago, the group hopes to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia.
After the 245-key Mövenpick Hotel Maclan Island Cebu, the group is opening a 312-room property on the beach in Boracay. Entertainment, dining and meeting spaces will make it the first property in this range and with this variety of services on the island. the opening of this new property confirms the group's desire to develop its presence in the area.
Olivier Chavy, president and CEO says: "Boracay is proving to be one of the most important beach resort destinations in Asia and it was time that Mövenpick opened a property in this strategic region."
As of January 1, 2017, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts was 52nd hotel group worldwide with 84 properties for a total of more than 21,000 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
