From this year, travellers looking to visit London will be welcomed at a brand new address in the heart of Shoreditch, aptly named YOTEL London Shoreditch.
In 2022, London will have a new YOTEL address in the heart of the tourist district of Shoreditch. The group has announced that this second hotel in the UK capital will open in April. The new property is the group's fifth city centre hotel in the UK, fourth franchised property, second hotel conversion in the UK and nineteenth hotel in operation worldwide.
Formerly known as the East London Hotel, the hotel has 161 rooms which have already been redecorated in the YOTEL Group's signature style. The conversion will include a number of upgrades to incorporate the brand's design and technology features. For instance, guests will be able to check in at Mission Control self-service stations in less than a minute and use their mobile devices as SmartKeys.
The new property is aimed at both business travellers and tourists visiting the world famous city. It offers a range of room types, from double and twin rooms to family and connecting rooms. The YOTEL London Shoreditch also has a bar, restaurant and coworking space.
The hotel is owned by Crestline Investors Inc. and Avelios Investors and will be managed under franchise by Michels & Taylor, one of Europe's leading hotel management and consultancy companies.
Being able to secure two franchise deals in under three months is testament to the growing strength of the YOTEL brand and its increased relevance in delivering low-touch high-tech hospitality experiences. We’re delighted to be working with institutional partners Crestline and Avelios, which once again showcases YOTEL’s continued sophistication in working with established hotel owners and investors.
Hubert Viriot, CEO of YOTEL
We are delighted to be running our first hotel under the YOTEL brand. The innovation and quality of the brand will add significant value to the hotel’s operation, and we look forward to working closely with all the YOTEL team in the coming years
Peter Hales, Managing director of Michels & Taylor Hotel Management
The property is in close proximity to an underground station, making it easy for guests to get to central London. The area around the hotel is also home to many creative start-ups, media agencies and entrepreneurs. There is also a rich and diverse range of dining and cultural facilities in the vicinity of the hotel.
The development of the group's hotel portfolio does not stop here, as YOTEL plans to open 2 properties in Miami in the spring of 2022 and another hotel in Greece later in the year. These 4 new properties will be added to the 19 properties already in the group's portfolio, which is only at the beginning of its development, as confirmed by its CEO, who says that other projects throughout the world are in the pipeline.
As with YOTEL Manchester, YOTEL London Shoreditch contributes to the more than 1,200 keys in our UK portfolio and is testament to the continuation of our hotel conversion strategy as well as our expansion plans in the UK and Europe whether through franchise or hotel management agreements. We are looking forward to emulating this strategy in other cities around the world
