The company announced the opening in 2020 of its new hotel, the first outside the United States.
Virgin Hotels is already established in several American cities and has decided to explore outside those borders. Thus, it is in Edinburgh that Virgin Hotels will set down its bags in 2020.
Located in the iconic India Buildings, in the old town of Edinburgh, the property will have 225 rooms and many and bars. The property is intended to reflect the city's eclectic and energetic style, tout en restant fidèle à son héritage historique.
The founder of the company, Sir Richard Branson, declared, "Edinburgh is an iconic city and we are pleased to be able to say that this will be the home of the first Virgin Hotel in the United Kingdom and Europe[…] My grand-parents were from Edinburgh and my wife Joan is also Scottish, so Scotland has always held a special place in my heart."
