The Berlin-based HR Group is to open a property at Vienna Airport with the brand Vienna House Easy and the franchisor Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

Construction of the 510-room property is scheduled to begin in autumn 2023, with a planned opening in spring 2025.

The Vienna House Easy is expected to be the largest hotel at Vienna Airport and one of the five largest hotels in Austria. The hotel will be built on the B9, right next to the VIP & General Aviation terminal at Vienna Airport.

The hotel sets new standards in sustainability during its construction and operation. It will be built from hybrid wood and will incorporate a self-sufficient heating and cooling system with zero CO2 emissions. In addition, part of the electricity needs will be covered by solar and wind energy from the site.

PKF hospitality group provided strategic advice and support during the acquisition phase of the new hospitality development by the Viennese property developer MAMMA Group. 

The number of rooms seems large at first glance, but it is absolutely necessary. Compared to other European airports, Vienna Airport has one of the lowest room capacities in relation to the number of passengers. The future hotel will remedy this situation and provide adequate accommodation for this internationally important airport hub.
