Universal Beach Hotels will open the first Beach Club hotel in Mallorca this summer at the Universal Hotel Aquamarin, an asset in which 5.5 million euros have been invested for its repositioning.
The renovation of the Universal Hotel Aquamarin is part of the strategic plan launched by the Mallorcan chain, which includes an investment of 40 million euros, to be carried out over a maximum period of three years.
In the specific case of the Universal Hotel Aquamarin, a complete renovation has been carried out, transforming the 3-star hotel into a superior 4-star hotel that combines a high-end lifestyle with the relaxed atmosphere of a beach club.
The hotel was upgraded from 99 to 85 rooms, as larger rooms were created and a spa with indoor pool and wellness areas was built. The chain's first Beach Club Hotel has a new outdoor area with sun loungers, deckchairs and parasols on a platform near the sea and the beach.
In the words of Universal Beach Hotels' marketing director Tobias Neumann, this pilot project is a "holistic project" for which the group has drawn on the know-how of experts. The concept will also be replicated in other hotels, with the aim of creating a different product on the island.
The F&B offer has been designed by Mika Ferrer and his team of experts, offering a mix of Far Eastern and Peruvian dishes, as well as fresh local produce. And the musical side has been entrusted to Mallorcan DJ and producer Fernando Gullón, who also ran the Ponderosa Beach in Playa de Muro. The property will offer sessions by local, national and international DJs, accompanied by a selection of live musicians.
With this new concept, the hotel is not only repositioning the asset and improving the rate, but "creating a strategic concept to attract digital nomads, food lovers, architecture lovers, groups and the MICE segment" according to Tobias Neumann.
