NH Hotel Group has announced an agreement with Azora to operate a new Tivoli Hotels & Resorts brand hotel in the Algarve, marking its entry into the all-inclusive market.
The property, currently closed, is being renovated and will reopen in the first quarter of 2023. The hotel will reopen as the Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort, on one of the Algarve's largest beaches and just minutes from the city of Portimão.
This luxury resort has 112,000 sqm, 470 rooms and suites, four restaurants and two bars, six swimming pools, a spa, a kids club and sports facilities such as a golf course, paddle tennis courts and a gym.
The resort was built in 2019 and was acquired by Azora in May this year. NH Hotel Group already operates two other Tivoli hotels which were acquired by Azora last year and for which it paid €148 million: the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Resort and the Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort.
The continued expansion of Tivoli Hotels & Resorts with these upcoming openings in Portugal and Spain demonstrates the company's clear priority to develop this brand, which will lead the growth of NH Hotel Group with new luxury resorts in some of the best holiday destinations in Southern Europe.
Ramón Aragonés, CEO of NH Hotel Group
With the new Tivoli Alvor Algarve Resort and the planned openings next year of the Tivoli La Caleta Resort in Tenerife, the Tivoli Doelen in Amsterdam and two resorts in the Netherlands, the brand will have 21 properties in Europe, Brazil, China and Qatar.
