The American's upscale boutique brand makes its debut in France in the heart of Paris. The Belgrand Hôtel Paris Champs-Élysées will open its doors in the first quarter of 2020.

Richard Cuello told Hospitality ON earlier this year that Hilton has high ambitions in France, as does its American colleague, the world's number one, Marriott.

46 rooms in the 16th arrondissement are being renovated following an agreement with the Dokhan Luxury Hotels Group, whose hotel was previously under the Mercure brand.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, Senior Vice President in charge of EMEA development, commented on the opening: "The Belgrand Hotel Paris Champs-Élysées, first in France in the Tapestry Collection, is now a pioneer of the brand in Europe alongside the Atocha Hotel Madrid, Tapestry Collection which will open its doors in 2020. ...] we anticipate significant demand for the Tapestry Collection. Paris recorded more than 17 million hotel stays in the first half of 2019 and the arrival of this new brand will be welcome in the French capital."

The group claims a presence of 36 open or future properties in France, i.e. 6,500 keys.

The Tapestry by Hilton Collection emphasizes the originality and uniqueness of the properties with a strong link to the destination where they are located.
