IHG has signed an agreement with operator Meravo Management AS and Grupo Reycar to open the second Voco branded hotel in Spain, in Granada, with construction set to begin in the summer for a planned opening in 2024.
The new hotel, designed by the architectural studio For Hotel Design, will be located next to the Granada Forum and aims to "become a lifestyle reference" for the city.
Voco Grenada will house 166 rooms, a jazz bar in the lobby, meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a bar, a restaurant with a roof terrace, 65 parking spaces and a sports area with two paddle tennis courts and a gym.
The signature with IHG, as an international brand with more than 6,000 hotels worldwide, will not only bring prestige, experience and internationalisation to the project but also to the city.
Carlos Fernandez, CEO of Grupo Reycar
The first signing in Spain took place in 2022, following an agreement with Grape Hospitality to develop five properties. One of these is the Voco Madrid Centre Retiro hotel, which will have 193 rooms and social areas.
IHG currently has 41 Voco hotels worldwide, with almost 10,000 rooms and 34 hotels in the pipeline.
