Scandic Collection Signature

Hotel group Scandic announces plans to expand its Signature Collection with the addition of two new hotels, one in Tromsø, Norway, scheduled to open in 2025, and the other in Aarhus, Denmark, scheduled to open in 2026.

These new properties will join the company's Signature Collection, which currently includes five hotels in Stockholm, Helsinki, Bergen and Oslo. The Signature Collection is designed to meet the growing demand from the leisure traveler segment, offering experiences where the hotel itself becomes an essential part of the journey, whatever the purpose.

Scandic's Signature Collection consists of lifestyle hotels specially designed to highlight the unique personality of each establishment, and these hotels are designed to be social meeting places for both locals and travelers.

Interest in experiences where the hotel becomes the destination itself continues to grow, which is why the extension of the Signature Collection to Tromsø and Aarhus is an exciting announcement. These hotels will play a central role in the urban development projects underway in their respective cities, attracting travelers to both regions. What's more, this expansion demonstrates Scandic's commitment to offering accommodation to national and international guests in Norway and Denmark, as emphasized by Thérèse Cedercreutz, Group Commercial Director of Scandic Hotels.

Both new hotels will offer wellness areas, fitness facilities, rooftop bars, meeting rooms and convivial spaces for dining and relaxation. The hotels will be built with sustainability in mind, and their operation will be environmentally certified by the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, the official ecolabel of the Nordic countries.

Tromsø is an attractive hotel market, particularly for international leisure travellers, with steadily growing popularity fuelled by the expansion of Tromsø airport, cruise tourism, as well as its appeal as a destination for Northern Lights viewing and mountain tourism. Scandic already operates two hotels in Tromsø, with a total of 390 rooms. The new hotel will be located in the new Vervet area and will have 305 rooms.

Aarhus, Denmark's second-largest city, is ideally located on the Jutland peninsula, making it easily accessible for both domestic and international guests, thanks to its infrastructure and connections.

Scandic currently operates three hotels in Aarhus, offering a total of 541 rooms, and the new Signature Collection hotel will strengthen Scandic's position as the region's leading hotel operator, with 342 rooms available to guests.
