In 2020, the fourth largest U.S. group is experiencing slight growth of 1.2%, or 7,080 additional rooms, approaching 600,000 rooms in total. This confirms the slowdown in its growth after developments of +8.3% in 2018 and +3.80% in 2019. It leaves China's Huazhu to overtake it in the Top 10.
During 2020, Choice Hotels announced a partnership with AMResort that tends to improve its Choice Privileges loyalty program. This loyalty program remains at the heart of the strategy of the American group, which wants to make it an asset in their development program. This partnership will bring no less than 25,000 upscale rooms to the Choice Hotels network.
For its part, Ascend Hotel Collection has continued to expand despite the pandemic, with 17 hotels under the brand opened or about to open since 2020. In addition, the group's new Everhome Suites brand, announced in January 2020, will see the light of day in mid-2021 with its mid-range long-stay offering...
Choice Hotels has also strengthened its management team, with the arrival of Jonathan Mills as managing director for Europe.
