Raffles Hotels & Resorts will soon operate its first London property in a building that once housed the office of former British prime minister Winston Churchill.

Completed in 1906, the landmark property in the heart of Whitehall has been home to monarchs such as Henry VIII, in addition to serving as the office of leaders such as former Prime Minister Winston Churchill. More recently, the property made appearances in the acclaimed Netflix drama series, The Crown, and in several James Bond films.

Having undergone a monumental and painstaking transformation over the last five years, the London landmark is set to complete in 2022 and will also comprise the capital’s first Raffles hotel with 125-rooms and suites, a collection of nine restaurants and bars, and an immersive spa and Raffles' maiden branded serviced residence in Europe - The OWO Residences by Raffles with 85 homes.

The Hinduja Group, owned by Britain's third wealthiest family, is helming the project, which is set to be completed next year after renovations that began in 2016.

The OWO, as the building will be known when it reopens, directly faces the Horse Guards and is next to St James's Park. It is also near other landmarks like Buckingham Palace.

Later this year, Raffles will open iconic new hotels in Dubai (The Palm), Bahrain, Udaipur, and Macau. Looking to 2022 and beyond, the brand will debut flagship locations in London (2022), Boston (2022), Lusail (2022), Moscow (2022), St. Petersburg (2023) and Sentosa (2023), among others.
