The Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan has opened its doors in the Italian city after a four-year renovation period, transforming a 1960s building into a five-star hotel.
The Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan is the second property of the luxury lifestyle brand to open in the Milanese metropolis and the fifth Radisson Collection Hotel in Italy, strengthening the group's portfolio in the land of the Dolce Vita.
Over a period of four years, the architectural firm Studio Marco Piva transformed the former headquarters of Allianz Italia into a upscale hotel. The original façade, clad in Veneto trachyte, and the characteristic roof with its oxidised copper slopes were preserved.
The hotel now features 159 rooms and suites designed as small urban lofts, a designer lobby, coworking spaces, a terrace on the fourth floor of the hotel with an outdoor pool and lounge bar area, a 24-hour fitness centre and a sauna.
Regarding the F&B offer, the property hosts Sofia Kichten & Bar, a restaurant located in the former inner courtyard of the building, offering a selection of Mediterranean dishes as well as international and European specialities.
In addition, on the seventh floor of the hotel, the specialty restaurant Issei Rooftop is scheduled to open in April 2023. The "Issei" brand represents Nikkei cuisine, a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine.
Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan is the perfect fifth Italian iteration of our Radisson Collection brand, and our second in Milan, as we continue expanding our portfolio of luxury hotels. As Radisson Hotel Group, we’re looking to give guests more options in Italy across different hotel brands, with 30 hotels by 2027 as an ambitious, but very much achievable target.
