The Peninsula London will be the brand's first property in the UK capital. After seven years of anticipation, the hotel will open this year, and chose Valentine's Day to greet its first customers.

Located in prestigious Belgravia, close to Hyde Park, the hotel will be housed in a new building designed by Hopkins Architects, with a large landscaped courtyard at the centre by designer Enzo Enea.

The new property will have 190 rooms and suites, including the Peninsula Suite, as well as 25 residences. The offer is completed by a spa and wellness centre with a 25-metre indoor pool and nine luxury boutiques.

On the F&B side, the hotel has appointed Michelin-starred British chef Claude Bosi to take charge of the hotel's flagship rooftop restaurant, Brooklands. The Peninsula London will also feature a Chinese restaurant, Canton Blue, in addition to a cigar lounge, a cocktail bar called Little Blue Bar, and its main restaurant in the lobby, which is open all day.

The hotel has a large ballroom, the St. George, which can accommodate banquets of up to 450 guests and has two lifts large enough to carry cars, as well as "a collection of refined and configurable conference rooms", plus a private cinema for screenings of up to 15 people.

As with all of its properties, Peninsula London will provide guests with a luxury fleet of cars, including four Bentley hybrids, a vintage 1960 electrified Austin taxi, in addition to a 1935 Rolls Royce Phantom.

Amongst these collaborations, the Peninsula London has enlisted the services of architect Peter Marino to decorate the rooms and public spaces, perfumer Timothy Han to create a bespoke fragrance, while the staff wardrobe has been designed by Jenny Packham.

In addition, some 40 artists from the Royal Drawing School were invited to create more than 200 original works to decorate the hotel's various interiors.

The year 2023 also marks the arrival of Peninsula Hotels in Turkey with the opening of Peninsula Istanbul on the banks of the Bosphorus. The hotel will feature 177 rooms and suites, a spa, gym, rooftop pool, private gardens and indoor and outdoor pools.

Dining options will include a rooftop restaurant and bar serving Turkish-Asian cuisine, as well as afternoon tea in the 20th century-inspired The Lobby restaurant.
