Motel One continues its expansion in the European market with the opening of a new property in the Netherlands, more precisely in the port city of Rotterdam which seems to be an increasingly attractive destination for hospitality actors.
Motel One Rotterdam is located directly in the pedestrian zone of the city and within sight of the famous covered market, which also inspired the design of the hotel.
The building in which Motel One Rotterdam is located has been completely renovated by Kaan Architects and a fifth floor has been added.
The hotel has 180 rooms and the new floor houses the lounge and panoramic bar as well as a large green roof terrace with a view of the city.
The design theme of the property is Gin o'Clock, a theme reflected in the multi-coloured blown glass lamps, steel cables stretched with silver planters, large paper lamps and illustrations inspired by old vegetable drawings, market stalls, depictions of market activity and shopping lists from around the world.
The new opening comes shortly after the opening of more hotels across Europe, including in the Alps, Germany and Spain.
