Oravel Stays, the parent company of OYO Hotels & Homes, has expanded its luxury hotel brand 'Sunday' into the UK with the opening of its first property, Sunday Lansbury Heritage, located in Canary Wharf, London. This launch marks the brand's debut in the UK.
Sunday Lansbury Heritage is situated in a restored Grade II-listed building that dates back to 1628. The hotel features 35 rooms, including options with panoramic views of London’s skyline and mezzanine bedrooms with split-level bathrooms. The property also includes amenities such as a gym, a spa with various relaxation facilities, and a restaurant.
“The launch of SUNDAY Lansbury Heritage Hotel marks a significant milestone for Oravel Stays in the UK market – our data indicates a growing demand for premium, experience-driven accommodations. This strategic move allows us to tap into the luxury segment, while maintaining our commitment to delivering value across all price points.” - Puneet Yadav, head of Oravel’s UK business
The 'Sunday' brand was initially launched in India in May 2023 through a joint venture with Softbank. It has since expanded within India, with plans to grow to 25 properties by March 2025. A notable upcoming project includes a new Sunday hotel in Gurugram, India, which is set to enhance the brand's presence in the luxury hospitality sector.
In addition to its UK debut, Oravel Stays has also collaborated with Sojo Stays to introduce Belvilla by OYO in the UK, adding over 300 high-end apartments and homes across major UK cities. This expansion underscores Oravel’s strategy to strengthen its footprint in the premium and high-end accommodation sectors globally.
