Accor, in partnership with multi-brand hotel operator The Chocolate on the Pillow Group, is expanding its Mercure portfolio in Switzerland with the opening of Mercure Zurich City, scheduled for 1 November 2023.
This collaboration marks the entry of The Chocolate on the Pillow Group into the Swiss market, making this their seventh joint project. At the same time, the Mercure Zurich City is also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Mercure Hotels & Resorts brand.
Nestled in the heart of "Vulcano," an iconic architectural structure erected in 2018, Mercure Zurich City is located in the fast-growing Altstetten district.
The hotel is about to undergo major renovations to comply with Mercure brand standards and guidelines. It features a restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace, as well as a wellness area with a spa and gym.
Over the next 18 months, all 319 rooms and common areas will be modernised to reflect the high quality standards of the Mercure brand. In addition, refurbishment projects are underway to improve the meeting and event spaces, which include several conference rooms. All catering facilities will also undergo a transformation.
