The greek market attracts more and more hotel operators, becoming again an important destination on the international touristic stage. In 2022 Accor and Marriott pursue their expansion plans within the country.
Moxy
Moxy Athens City opened its door on April 1st, 2022. The property features 201 guestrooms all equiped with smart technology. Furthermore the hotel's rooftop penthouse can be booked as a suite or private entertainment venue. The check-in takes place at the Bar Moxy where guests can enjoy a complimentary "Got Moxy" cocktail. This bar is a communal hub in the lobby. Moxy’s grad-and-go concept enable guests to have what they want whenever they want, including snacks and drinks.
Kokkinou-Kourkoulas and Divercity Architects were in charge of the design of the hotel with the ambition to inject innovation into the historic Saroglion Megaron, the hotel's original building. Graffiti-style walls bring a touch of creativity to the porperty. Moxy Athens City will receive its LEED Gold certification, making it the first "green" hotel in Greece with this distinction.
Moxy Athens City is located by Stadiou Street, a strategic place to discover touristic attractions of Athens from the Acropolis and the Parthenon to the picturesque neighborhood of Plaka. Shops, trendy restaurants and bars are also close to the property.
Dimand SA and Prodea Investments and EBRD are behind this project, while SWOT Hospitality, a leading company in hotel operation and development, has undertaken the management of the hotel.
MGallery
Niko Seaside Resort, a member of the MGallery Hotel Collection, will open its door on April 10, 2022. Located on Crete, in the coastal town of Agios Nikolaos, this new property combines unique design aesthetics of the MGallery Hotel Collection with the identity of the island. This adults-only destination features 141 rooms and suites with private plunge pools and views of the Mediterranean Sea and the historic town.
Niko Seaside Resort MGallery is settled in a newly renovated building which hosts now two on-site restaurants, melding the flavours of Crete with international influences. As with every MGallery property around the world, the resort has and Iconic Object which is the Cretan Lyra and a Memorable Moment which is a visit to the uninhabited island of Spinalonga.
Guests are within walking distance from the historical sights of the island, the cosmopolitan centre as well as the famous Voulismeni Lake. Indeed, the resort uniquely intertwines water as one of its central features.
Niko Seaside Resort MGallery is the second Mgallery resort in Greece. Accor established a partnership with with Knossians Group and Hines to open it.
