The operator, already very present in Egypt, has signed an agreement that will lead to the opening of its first resort on the North coast of the country in 2020.

Following an agreement with Arabia Investment & Tourism Development SAE (part of the Arabia Group) the Swiss group will manage The Mövenpick Hotel & Residences North Coast, which forms part of a high-end residential complex, of mixed use, being developed on the north coast of Egypt.

Located 70km west of Alexandria, and 15 minutes from Borg El Arab International Airport, the complex will consist of 150 hotel rooms, 150 rental apartments, 2 restaurants, a snack bar, a beach grill, three meeting rooms, a banquet hall, spa, swimming pool and a kids club. Its opening is scheduled for 2020.

As of January 1, 2017, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts ranked as 52nd worldwide hotel group with 84 establishments totaling 21,003 rooms, according to data published by Hospitality ON.
