After Doha and Abu Dhabi, the lifestyle brand owned by Accor is now planning to set up in Riyadh by 2026 as part of the Al Malga Urban Village leisure complex.
Following last year's announcement of the opening of Mondrian Abu Dhabi in 2024 in collaboration with the Al Hazoom Group, Mondrian is unveiling new projects in a neighbouring destination. After the United Arab Emirates, it is now the turn of Saudi Arabia to welcome the lifestyle brand, more precisely the city of Riyadh.
The Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga Hotel and Residences will feature 200 keys, including 130 standard rooms and suites, 25 one-bedroom flats, 35 two-bedroom flats and 10 three-bedroom serviced flats. The offering will be complemented by three new restaurants and lounges created by Carte Blanched, Ennismore's in-house F&B concept studio, as well as extensive event spaces and social wellness areas.
Designed by designer and interior architect Tristan Di Plessis, the hotel is built with a focus on energy conservation, water efficiency and carbon reduction, enabling it to be LEED certified.
In addition, the property will be part of the mixed-use Al Malga Urban Village, where residents and visitors can enjoy shopping, dining, entertainment and leisure facilities. The new Mondrian will also have easy access to Riyadh Boulevard, which hosts major events and concerts.
Under development with owner Olayan Financing Company (OFC), the Mondrian Riyadh Al Malga further strengthens the strategic partnership between Ennismore and OFC, which is already planning future projects to introduce other Ennismore lifestyle brands to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Mondrian's global expansion shows no signs of slowing down with a pipeline of 17 branded hotels and residences, including upcoming openings in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bordeaux, Ibiza, Cannes, Dubai, Gold Coast Australia and Abu Dhabi.
