New properties in Tianjin and Kunming contribute to Microtel's national expansion, with Wyndham making the 14th brand available for development in China.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its portfolio in China with 20 new Microtel by Wyndham hotels by the end of 2022, located in key cities and emerging destinations across the country.

Designed to offer travelers modern amenities, Microtel by Wyndham debuted in China in late 2019 as a mid-range brand. The brand has since grown into a collection of six hotels, including Hangzhou, Hefei, Guiyang, Kunming, Lijiang and Tianjin.

The most recent additions to this nationwide portfolio are Microtel by Wyndham Tianjin and Microtel by Wyndham Kunming City Center, which debuted last month. In the future, the brand will further expand its presence with new openings in destinations such as Huangshan, Changsha, Qingdao, Fuzhou and more.

New openings in 2021:

Located in the China (Tianjin) Free Trade Pilot Zone, next to a shopping mall and a 10-minute drive from Tianjin Binhai International Airport, the 165-room Microtel by Wyndham Tianjin offers spacious guest rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, fitness center, spa, self-service laundry and a meeting room that can accommodate up to 80 people - perfect for anyone visiting the booming metropolis of Tianjin.

Located in the heart of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, Microtel by Wyndham Kunming City Center is a five-minute walk from Chuanxingulou Metro Station and Kunming North Bus Station, and a 20-minute drive from Kunming Railway Station. The hotel features 131 spacious rooms, a restaurant serving local Yunnan cuisine, a fitness center, self-service laundry and meeting rooms, ideal for business and leisure travelers in this scenic city.

Coming soon:

Microtel by Wyndham Huangshan Tangkou - this new 110-room hotel is located near the scenic area of Mount Huangshan in Anhui Province, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China's most popular tourist attractions. The hotel is expected to welcome guests in the third quarter of 2021.

Microtel by Wyndham Changsha West - this 135-key hotel will offer contemporary rooms and meeting space for up to 80 people. Opening in the first quarter of 2022, it will provide access to local attractions in Hunan province, such as Orange Island, Yuelu Mountain and the Hunan Provincial Museum.
