The Spanish hotel chain has announced the takeover of the former 5* Hotel Monterrey in Lloret de Mar, which will reopen in the second quarter of 2024 under the Meliá Hotels & Resorts brand.
To meet the brand's standards, the hotel will undergo a refurbishment thanks to the agreement between the hotel and the property's asset manager, Okami Hotels.
It will feature 200 rooms, an à la carte restaurant, a bar and a pool bar. It will also be equipped with two outdoor pools, a sun terrace, large green gardens, a wellness area with spa and a gym.
Its various meeting and event rooms, strategic location and proximity to Barcelona will give it strong potential for the MICE segment.
With the addition of this new property, which marks the chain's arrival on the Costa Brava, Meliá maintains its commitment to Spanish vacation destinations.
"Meliá is a company with Mediterranean roots and, for this reason, we will continue to focus on Spanish vacation destinations and the repositioning of iconic hotels. We remain committed to offering first-class experiences with renewed concepts that add value to the region and continue to drive the improvement of our tourist destinations." - Gabriel Escarrer, Vice President and General Manager, Meliá Hotels International
