Meliá Hotels International and Summum Hotel Group have signed an agreement for the management of a 5-star property in Ronda, in a former convent in the city centre, which will open in 2026 under the brand name The Meliá Collection.
The Meliá Collection property will be the city's first 5-star hotel and will be located in the former Madre de Dios convent, a building constructed in the mid-sixteenth century that bears witness to many historical periods through its Mudejar, Gothic-Isabelline and Renaissance elements.
The future hotel will have 27 rooms, two courtyards with fountains, a garden, restaurant, swimming pool, gym, meeting room and spa with aquatic area.
Located in the historic centre of Ronda, close to the city's main tourist attractions, the hotel will be operated by Summum Hotel Group, while the walls will be owned by Grupo MGI.
This is a fundamental step in the consolidation of our alliance and commitment with Summum Hotel Group, and a demonstration of the capacity and excellence that both companies can bring to the development of a luxury hotel offer in new Spanish destinations.
Gabriel Escarrer, CEO, Meliá Hotels International
This new opening is part of an alliance between the two hotel groups, which aims to have 500 rooms together by 2029.
