Marriott International has signed a management agreement with Grupo Puntacana and Mac Hotels to begin construction of a beachfront W Marriott in Uvero Alto, Punta Cana.

The 349-room, all-inclusive, adults-only property is scheduled to open in 2024. It will be the first W hotel in this market and will also be one of the first all-inclusive W branded resorts in the world.

For Mac Hotels, owned by the Amengual family, the original developer of the project, this investment represents the third asset in the country. The Spanish group has changed its traditional strategy of owning and operating all its projects.

Punta Cana is the perfect destination for both the W Hotels brand and an all-inclusive luxury resort. We look forward to bringing the vision of this fun adult playground to life with Grupo Puntacana and Mac Hotels.

Laurent de Kousemaeker, Marriott International's Director of Development for the Caribbean and Latin America

Today's signing with Grupo Puntacana and Marriott International brings much needed visibility to our business, and we thank both groups for the trust they have placed in us. We are delighted to be able to offer an unparalleled experience to our customers.
