Hotel group Mandarin Oriental has unveiled plans for a luxury hotel and residences in London's South Bank: the Mandarin Oriental Bankside.
The project is the result of a collaboration led by an international real estate consortium, including Hotel Properties Limited, Native Land Limited and Amcorp Properties Berhad.
Located on London's South Bank, Mandarin Oriental Bankside, London overlooks St. Paul's Cathedral. Its location offers easy access to the City of London and the West End, and caters for tourists and business travelers alike. The hotel will be part of the Bankside Yards project, which aims to revitalize the area between Tate Modern and Blackfriars station, around the historic railway arches that adorn the heart of the site.
The complex will include 171 guest rooms and 70 branded residences at Mandarin Oriental. The hotel will offer wellness and fitness facilities, tailored to people with active lifestyles. A dedicated area within the property will house the Spa at Mandarin Oriental, offering wellness therapies and beauty treatments, a 25-meter swimming pool and a spacious fitness center.
The hotel will offer four distinct restaurants located on the first and 19th floors, with views over the city. The property will also feature flexible event spaces, including adaptable meeting and function rooms, a pre-function area, an outdoor terrace and an activity zone, enabling it to host a variety of events and social occasions.
Committed to sustainable development, the property will benefit from Bankside Yards' wider development plan, which aims to be the UK's first major mixed-use development without fossil fuels.
"We are delighted to announce the development of Mandarin Oriental Bankside, London, which will be a significant addition to the Bankside Yards development and our third Mandarin Oriental property in London. We look forward to working with our partners to create a world-class hotel and branded residences that will undoubtedly become a landmark destination on London's South Bank." - James Riley, Managing Director of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
"Bankside Yards is a first-class mixed-use destination, designed by Native Land and its partners in London's most central waterfront area. The arrival of a Mandarin Oriental hotel and branded residences will be one of the most important elements of our intention to offer the finest amenities alongside world-class cultural institutions, leading businesses and a rich and diverse community. Such a respected global hospitality brand will have a positive impact not only on the Bankside Yards project, but also on the wider Bankside and South Bank district." - Alasdair Nicholls, Managing Director of Native Land
