The second property operated under the brand in Europe will open just a stone's throw away from the Opera Garnier in 2020.
This property will complement the high-end offer of the district and will be adjacent to the InterContinental Paris le Grand. Axa Investments Managers - Real Assets has entrusted the project management to Vinci Immobilier which will transform the existing building into a 149-key hotel with a spa with fitness area and swimming pool, a conference area and a reception room. The hotel will also house a restaurant under an independent brand name as well as a rooftop faithful to the identity of the brand, which, since its creation in 1981, has carried the DNA of the Boutique Hotel. The works that started this July 19 will be carried out in compliance with the label Breeam RFO Very Good.
More broadly, InterContinental Hotel Group has great ambitions for the development of the Kimpton brand in Europe, which currently only has a 274-key establishment in Amsterdam. After the opening in Paris in 2020 and others in Asia (Bali, Shanghai, Taipei and Sanya), the United Kingdom will host the brand in the coming years as the brand is to be developed within the facilities recently acquired by Covivio from Starwood Capital.
As of March 31, 2018, the brand had 66 properties (including 63 in the USA) with 12,517 rooms.
