After the opening of the Indigo Hotel Dubai Downtown, Oman is ready to welcome its first Hotel Indigo. With 176 rooms, the opening is scheduled for 2022.
The Hotel Indigo brand is a boutique-hotel brand which, created in 2004, is now present in more than 20 countries with more than 120 hotels and more than 100 hotels in the pipeline.
IHG Hotels and Resorts signed a management agreement with Redhat Al Jabal LLC to launch this upper scale brand in the Sultanate of Oman.
The hotel will be located in Nizwa in the governorate of Ad Dakhaliyah. With access to a wide range of tourism activities in the surrounding area the location is a great destination for cultural and leisure tourism. The Hotel Indigo range particularly aims at those guests who are visiting the Middle East and are looking for an individualistic experience and wish to feel immersed in the destination they are visiting.
Hotel Indigo Jabal Al Akhdar will be located 80 km from the city, 2 hours drive from Muscat International Airport and 6 hours drive from Dubai. The 176-room hotel will also include three dining areas, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, a 2,200 m² spa and 2 meeting rooms.
Pascal Gauvin, Managing Director, India, Middle East and Africa, IHG said :
We are pleased to announce the signing of our first Indigo Hotel in Oman in partnership with a reputable company such as Redhat Al Jabal LLC. Hotel Indigo is a unique brand that allows each establishment to draw inspiration from the local environment and provide an immersive and authentic experience for guests. Combined with an excellent location, I am confident that Hotel Indigo Jabal Al Akhdar will be a destination in its own right and will be a popular choice among international, regional and national visitors.
As of June 30, 2020, there were 121 Indigo hotels worldwide, including the recent Hotel Indigo Verona - Grand Hotel Des Arts and Hotel Indigo Larnaca. A further 102 Indigo hotels are expected in the next 3 to 5 years.
