A new IntercityHotel with 115 guest rooms will open in Leiden in 2023 in the Province of South Holland in the West of the country.
The IntercityHotel Leiden will be within walking distance of the old area of the city and around Leiden Central Station. It will provide 115 rooms, a restaurant, a BistroLounge and a lobby. Like at all new IntercityHotels, interior design will be by the Italian architect Matteo Thun. The hotel will form part of a new build development called Octagon and will be operated via a lease agreement agreed between STAG Hotels Netherlands B.V. and the project developer Synchroon B.V.
I am delighted that we are continuing to drive forward our successful international growth by launching a new IntercityHotel in Leiden. Leiden draws a colourful mix of visitors thanks to its historic old quarter and its proximity to important economic locations. It is also home to the oldest university in the Netherlands, and the tulip was introduced to western Europe for the first time at the city’s Botanical Gardens. The concept for the new IntercityHotel fits in perfectly with this environment. It combines high-end design with a range of impressive and innovative services which are unique in the upper mid-scale sector.
Marcus Bernhardt, CEO, Deutsche Hospitality
This new hotel in Leiden is the fourth property in the Netherlands. It joins the IntercityHotel Enschede, the IntercityHotel Amsterdam Airport, which is scheduled to open in 2021, and an IntercityHotel in Breda. Deutsche Hospitality is already represented in the Netherlands with the Steigenberger Airport Hotel Amsterdam and the Jaz in the City Amsterdam.
