Following Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux, Los Angeles and Rio, the brand – launched by the Trigano family together with AccorHotels (35%) – will open its doors on March 8th in Belgrade.
Mama Shelter Belgrade is located in the heart of the city, along Ulica Kneza Mihaila – or Prince Michael Street – the emblematic pedestrian street of the Serbian capital.
Featuring avant-garde elements designed by Jalil Amor, the setting pays homage to the Ottoman history of the capital. The 125 hotel rooms recreate the comfort of the home with all the demands of modernity.
In addition to the rooms, there are also areas reserved for working together and meetings. Guests may meet on the 5,000 square foot terrace – where table football and tennis tables are available – which offers a view of The White City’s ancient citadels and towers.
Serge Trigano, president of Mama Shelter says it best: "A city where ice cream is served from 6am, restaurants and bars are open until dawn, and it is safe to walk parks in the middle of night, is a place where MAMA needs to be.”
This year, the New York Times put Belgrade on its coveted list of where to visit in 2018, calling it “an energetic town on the rise”.
New openings are planned for Lisbon and Dubai in 2019 and Luxembourg in 2020. Meanwhile, other hotels will have joined the Mama Shelter network in France, including a new property as part of the transformation of the exhibition centre at the Porte de Versailles.
