IHG Hotels & Resorts has partnered with Ha Long Bay Hotel Joint Stock Company to create a new resort in Halong City.
The Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay, which will open in 2023, will be the second Holiday Inn Resort to open in Vietnam, following the Holiday Inn Resort Ho Tram Beach.
The 208-room property will be located a 50-minute drive from Haiphong Cat Bi International Airport along Bai Chay Road, within walking distance of Sun World Theme Park and a public beach.
Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay's facilities will include three restaurants and bars, more than 1,300 square meters of meeting space, including a banquet hall, an adults-only infinity pool, an indoor children's pool, a fitness center and a spa.
We are delighted to partner with Ha Long Bay Hotel Joint Stock Company - a subsidiary of Global Invest JSC - to develop our flagship Holiday Inn Resort in Halong Bay. Its opening in 2023 will herald a new era of family fun in Halong City - a concept we know is in high demand and is reflected in our decision to open three Holiday Inn Resorts in the country - Ho Tram, Halong Bay and Sapa - over the next three years.
Serena Lim, vice president of development for Southeast Asia and Korea, IHG
I am delighted to partner with IHG, which shares my vision of developing integrated, world-class destination concepts in Vietnam that complement Global Invest JSC's ecosystem of industry verticals, such as our renowned hop-on, hop-off buses. Since the onset of the pandemic, we have seen Vietnamese families rediscover travel in their own backyard. This has given a boost to destinations such as my hometown, Halong City, which is no longer just a transit point to Halong Bay, but is fast becoming a top leisure destination in its own right.
Mr. Nguyen Ba Tien, President of Global Invest JSC
By 2025, IHG will have opened the Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay, InterContinental Halong Bay Resort and InterContinental Residences Halong Bay in Quang Ninh province. With 13 hotels in Vietnam, primarily in the luxury and lifestyle segment with the Six Senses Hotels, Resorts & Spas and InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brands, Holiday Inn Resort Halong Bay continues IHG's expansion in the mainstream travel segment and joins a pipeline of 19 hotels across seven brands.
