Closed since 2010, the 200 bedroom resort will reopen after renovation beginning of 2022.

Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with a wholly owned subsidiary of Intriva Capital European Principal Investment Fund I LP (“Intriva”), a European private equity fund to reopen the property under Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand.

Nuno Galvao Pinto, regional vice president of development Europe, Hyatt comments : “We are delighted to collaborate with Intriva to redevelop and rediscover the splendor of this famous building and welcome it into The Unbound Collection by Hyatt portfolio”.

The property was built en 1986, the Byblos Hotel "new generation" will offer : " a health club and spa, indoor and outdoor pools, a cinema, and a night club, family facilities including a kid’s club, and [...] conference spaces for private events and business meetings." F&B will stress the Andaloucian food served on a roof top wiht a view on the Sierra de Mijas mountain range. The resort is close to a 18-hole golf courses, originally designed by Robert Trent Jones.

The American brand however is leaving Malloca island not renewing its management of the Park Hyatt of the Cap Vermell. This resort was the first one operated by the brand in Spain from 2016 with 142 rooms. The island strongly depends on airline and suffers from the current situation.
