Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi paves the way for the hospitality firm’s Africa expansion strategy
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has made its debut in Kenya with the official opening on April 9, 2018 of Mövenpick Hotel & Residences Nairobi.
Located in the thriving commercial, retail and entertainment hub, Westlands, close to the city centre, diplomatic districts and 20km from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the upscale property features 276 rooms, suites and residences and 14 state-of-the-art venues and the 710sqm Almasi ballroom with a built-in stage that is convertible into two enclosed sections.
The hotel and conference facility, which blends authentic African design and décor to create a sense of place with Mövenpick’s signature personalised service and culinary heritage, also paves the way for the company’s ambitious Sub Saharan expansion plans and a springboard to grow our footprint across East Africa .
“This is an exciting and timely moment to enter Kenya’s hospitality market, with the tourism sector becoming increasingly important to the country’s economy, generating 10% of GDP – the same as banking – and predicted to grow by 6% annually over the next decade,” said Marc Descrozaille, President Middle East & Africa, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts.
