The budget hotel group has announced plans to open a new hotel in Madrid in 2025, making it the second hotel in the capital and the seventh in Spain.

easyHotel has just acquired a former office building in the heart of the Spanish capital, with plans to transform it into a hotel by next year. The project is being carried out in partnership with Redentum Partners.

Located in the San Blas-Canillejas district, the future property will have 94 rooms, a restaurant with an outdoor terrace where breakfasts will be served, and parking for 30 vehicles, some of which will be equipped with electric chargers.

Sustainability is an integral part of the project, with the use of recycled and sustainable materials in the rooms, the complete renovation of the building's infrastructure, and the installation of solar panels and a battery management system.

Spain is an extremely important market for us, as we see strong demand for affordable hotel brands throughout the country. As part of the easy family of brands, we have strong brand recognition in Spain, which has been served by easyJet flights for almost 30 years. The new Madrid-San Blas hotel is our second contract in Spain since the start of the year, with the new Alicante hotel we recently announced.

Karim Malak, CEO of easyHotel

The group recently announced the acquisition of land for the construction of a new hotel in Alicante, due to open in 2026. According to Karim Malak, the aim is to expand in the region, which is why ‘we are continuing to explore many other opportunities, both in terms of ownership, rent and franchising’.
