easyHotel recently announced the acquisition of land for the construction of a new hotel in Alicante, Spain. Scheduled to open in 2026, this new addition to the easyHotel family is also expected to create around 15 jobs in the region.

The move is part of easyHotel's European expansion strategy, which aims to strengthen its presence in France and Spain, capitalising on the brand's well-established reputation in the travel sector.

The future easyHotel will be located on Avenida de Alcoy, close to Parc del Tossal. With a total surface area of 2,900 m², the hotel will offer 97 rooms designed to minimise carbon emissions, reflecting easyHotel's commitment to environmental sustainability. Independent studies have confirmed that these rooms will reduce CO2 emissions by 21% over a 50-year period, compared with industry standards.

As part of its commitment to sustainable development, easyHotel plans to use recyclable and sustainable materials wherever possible in the construction of this establishment, while optimising the use of space through intelligent room design. These initiatives will limit the use of construction materials and reduce the hotel's environmental footprint. In recognition of these efforts, the building will be certified 'Very Good' by BREEAM, underlining its commitment to ecology.

With this latest addition to its portfolio, easyHotel is strengthening its presence in Spain, where it already operates properties in Malaga, Madrid and Barcelona, with plans to open new hotels in Barcelona and Valencia in 2025. Once opened, the Alicante property will bring the total number of easyHotel hotels in Spain to six.

In addition, easyHotel will open a fourth property in Zurich and its first hotel in Marseille later this year. To date, the brand has more than forty hotels in eleven European countries.

"The easy brand is well known among Spanish customers, which makes this new hotel a key element in our expansion strategy in countries where our brand enjoys strong recognition. Working with a local developer has enabled us to find the ideal location, close to public transport and in a popular city. Alicante is the perfect complement to our existing portfolio, and allows us to introduce a new cost-effective option for travellers looking to explore this fantastic city and the beautiful beaches of the Costa Blanca." - Karim Malak, CEO of easyHotel

"We're delighted to have worked with Xpandia on this project, and we both want to deliver more properties together as part of a long-term partnership. This is exactly the kind of relationship we want to develop with our property partners, and we're already looking at other projects we can work on together." - Gwenaëlle Pouy, Development Director and Head of Real Estate at easyHotel

"It has been a rewarding experience working with easyHotel to identify an ideal location that aligns perfectly with the brand's needs and enhances its market strategy. We look forward to continuing to contribute to and support this project." - Javier Perez Picallo, Managing Director of Xpandia Projects
