Radisson Hotel Group is planting a new flag in the heart of Paris, on rue des déchargeurs, a stone's throw from the Canopée. The Radisson Collection will be managed for Redevco, which owns the building that is currently being renovated to become a mixed-use venue contributing to the neighbourhood.
We will have to wait until 2027 to discover the 57 keys and the rooftop of the Radisson Collection Paris.
"We are proud of several things. In 2018 we launched the Radisson Collection brand and I used to ask the teams very regularly when Paris?
When I was working in France, I passed by here every day, so for me it's an ambition that's coming true." Federico González Tejera, Executive Vice-Chairman Radisson Hotel Group. He adds, "Finding a partner with whom all the teams feel comfortable is no easy task. Not every day will be easy, but we will carry out this work in a spirit of collaboration.
"For foreigners, this is a unique place where you can see the whole of Paris. It's our responsibility to make our rooftop a place for sharing that's part of the neighbourhood."
The first partnership for Valerie Schuermans' team was with Redevco for a complete overhaul of a building that was, until several months ago, an office block.
"The partnership was concluded very quickly: I visited the premises on 9 November and we signed the contract on 12 April. Valerie Schuermans explains. "For us, this property will be a flagship for the Radisson Collection brand in Europe. she stresses.
The building has 7 floors and is taller than any of its neighbours. Radisson will manage floors 5 to 7, as well as the 500 sq. metre rooftop, which can accommodate up to 250 people. There is also a crypt dating from the 12th century, which will be operated by Radisson Hotel Group, with a capacity of 19 people, as well as 90 sq. metres of lobby space on the ground floor.
The hotel is part of a wider redevelopment project including office space, co-working spaces, an urban logistics base - in particular for processing the district's waste - 3, 000 sq. metres for retail and 600 square metres dedicated to an association.
"In this project, we are emphasising the community of uses. This partnership is part of a 12-year lease under which we are entrusting Radisson Hotel Group with the management of accommodation and catering. We also plan to call on their expertise to provide services in the office areas." Thierry Cahierre, Chairman of Redevco France.
