In collaboration with CPI Hotels, Choice Hotels opens three hotels in the Czech cities of Olomouc, Ústí nad Labem and Prague. A development agreement was signed for the opening of five additional hotels.
Comfort Hotel Olomouc Center will open its doors in April 2018 (89 rooms). Managed by CPI Hotels, it's the second Choice Hotels property in Olomouc after the Clarion Congress Hotel Olomouc.
The Comfort Hotel Usti nad Labem City will open in June 2018 after 18 months of partial renovation. It's also the second hotel of the group in Ústí nad Labem.
With a capacity of 243 rooms, Comfort Hotel Prague is scheduled to open in early 2020 after major renovations.
Jan Kratina, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CPI Hotels, said: "The expansion of the Comfort brand is the ideal response to an increasingly diverse customer base. The potential of the Comfort brand worldwide is considerable."
With CPI Hotels, Choice Hotels found a partner with 20 years of experience with the Choice franchise model. Its portfolio includes nine Clarion brand hotels with a capacity of approximately 1,600 rooms. The Clarion Congress Hotel Prague (559 rooms) and the Clarion Congress Hotel Ceske Budejovice (204 rooms) are currently under renovation. The latter should house a new conference center for over 800 people and plans to extend its accommodation capacity.
A growing portfolio in Europe
After a continuous growth of the co-brands Star Inn Hotel by Comfort and Star Inn Hotel Premium by Quality, Choice Hotels recently announced the entry of the Ascend Hotel Collection label on the German market with the V8 Hotel Köln @MOTORWORLD in Cologne.
The Clarion brand also confirmed its expansion with four new locations in the UK. New openings are also expected in the coming months in Germany with the Quality Hotel Star Inn Premium in Heidelberg and the Comfort Hotel Monheim.
As of January 1, 2018, Choice Hotels had 6,627 properties, representing a capacity of 525,573 rooms, according to Hospitality ON data.
