MY Locanda par Cheval Collection Glasgow

The city of Glasgow will be home to a new brand entitled MY Locanda, the latest addition to the British Cheval Collection group, by 2024.

Cheval Collection has signed a joint venture with property developer Chris Stewart Group to bring its new urban lifestyle brand of serviced appartments. My Locanda property is due to open in the first quarter of 2024 in the heart of Glasgow's business district.

Its international outlook and design-led approach will attract both short and long-term residents and matches our vision for the site, which will include high quality retail and F&B brands. Having worked with Cheval in Edinburgh, I’m delighted to continue the relationship with this new venture.

Chris Stewart, CEO of Chris Stewart Group

Overall, MY Locanda will have 168 rooms, including 104 studios,  62 one-bed apartments, and 2 one-bedroom suites. The offer is aimed at both business and leisure travellers as well as those wishing to stay longer. Cheval Collection will be in charge of the operation of this new property.

In December 2018 we announced our vision to expand beyond key cities in the UK and to take on new management contracts both in the domestic and overseas markets. The launch of our exciting new brand, MY Locanda, demonstrates that vision coming to life, and we are already talking to many developers and investors about future locations.

Mohammed Almarzooqi, Managing Director of Cheval Collection

Hoskins Architects is in charge of the design of MY Locanda, a work carried out in collaboration with the 3DReid interior design team. Accommodation is at the heart of the project, with a focus on F&B and the creation of a community lounge accessible to guests and residents alike.

The concept deliberately blurs the boundaries between hotel, serviced appartment and cohabitation. A "Wall of Curiosities" is also available to guests, allowing them to borrow and lend items from the surrounding area during their stay.

This project was designed in response to the growing demand for serviced appartments where guests do not feel like tourists and instead feel part of the local community. An offer with affordable prices that still offers high quality services and products suitable for all types of customers.
