With this new opening, the budget hotel chain is consolidating its expansion in Spain and across the Iberian Peninsula, where it now has a total of 67 hotels.

Located at 68 Carrer de Gallecs, the B&B HOTEL Barcelona Mollet Porta de Gallecs offers 64 double and triple rooms.

Rapid expansion in Iberia and beyond

In recent years, B&B HOTELS has experienced rapid growth across the Iberian Peninsula. Led by Lucia Méndez-Bonito, the CEO of B&B HOTELS Spain & Portugal, the group has doubled its revenue since 2019 and is planning the opening of 20 additional hotels that are already under construction. This growth strategy aims at an ambitious goal: to reach 200 hotels by 2030.

Today, B&B HOTELS has 55 hotels in Spain and 17 in Portugal.

A strategic partnership for future growth

As part of this expansion, B&B HOTELS recently strengthened its partnership with Grupo Avintia Real Estate, an alliance that began in 2021, with a new agreement for the construction of 10 hotels by 2025. This project, valued at more than 100 million euros, solidifies B&B HOTELS’ position as a key player in the hotel industry in Spain and Portugal.

A long-term lease model

This new hotel is part of B&B HOTELS’ growth strategy, which is based on the asset-light model, where hotels are operated under long-term lease agreements. This flexible model allows the group to maintain strong growth rates and ambitiously plan for the future. It also helps control costs while accelerating the opening of new hotels.

In a recent interview with Hospitality ON, Sami Mendil, Global Head of Real Estate, explained the group’s expansion strategy:

"B&B HOTELS has tripled its growth over the last ten years, with a notable acceleration in the last 3 years (2022,2023,2024). We expect to open 130 new hotels in 2024, a record for the sector. This reflects our increased ambition to strengthen our presence in our four main European markets (France, Germany, Italy and Spain) as well as our international development, with the first openings this year in two new priority markets: the United Kingdom and the United States."
