One year after the opening of the Barrière Le Carl Gustaf hotel on the island of Saint-Barthélémy, the group has announced the opening of a second Barrière Le Fouquet's hotel in New York and a Paradiso restaurant in Abu Dhabi.
The Barrière group sets up for the first time in the United States
It is in the historic district of Tribeca, known for its old industrial buildings transformed into residential lofts, that the Barrière Hotel Le Fouquet's New-York will open its doors during the summer of 2022, with the aim of attracting an American and European clientele and under the general management of Gilles Stellardo. Like its legendary address on the Champs-Elysées, this new property will be a luxury hotel with 96 rooms and suites spread over 8 floors. Several restaurants will be available to guests, including the Parisian Brasserie Fouquet's, as well as a spa, a swimming pool and several seminar rooms. For this future hotel, the Barrière Group is under management contract with Caspi Development, a New York-based property management company specialising in hotel, residential and office properties.
Abu Dhabi to host Paradiso restaurant
After the opening of the Paradiso restaurant in Cannes in 2020, the Barrière Group is developing its concept internationally with a new establishment in Abu Dhabi, scheduled to open in November 2021. The concept of the restaurant was born in the Barrière le Majestic Hotel in Cannes, with the collaboration of three-starred chef Pierre Gagnaire and Nicole Rubi, owner of the famous Nice restaurant La Petite Maison. The same concept will be used in Abu Dhabi: Mediterranean cuisine with simple, generous and colourful recipes.
"We are particularly proud that this autumn is marked by recovery and development with two major international opening projects between now and the summer of 2022, including the opening next summer of a Barrière Le Fouquet's Hotel in New York in the Tribeca district. This first address in the United States is a collective project supported by the entire Group. Our second opening will take place by the end of the year in Abu Dhabi where, after the Fouquet's brasserie at the Louvre Museum in 2020, we will export the Paradiso restaurant concept imagined by the fantastic duo Pierre Gagnaire and Nicole Rubi. With these two openings, and with over a century of expertise in the luxury hotel and restaurant business, Barrière is strengthening its international development and contributing to the influence of France and the French art of living abroad," says Dominique Desseigne, Chairman and CEO of the Barrière Group.
