Apsys, involved in trade and urban planning since 1996, unveils its new CANOPIA project in Bordeaux, an upmarket urban development located opposite the Saint-Jean railway station. Suitcase Hospitality, in partnership with Accor, will operate a TRIBE hotel in this dynamic district.
This project aims to transform the area by 2026 by bridging the gap between the Garonne and the station. CANOPIA will be a mixed-use, lively and environmentally friendly district, bringing together retail space, residences, offices, hotels and services. The development will include new shops, services, leisure facilities and restaurants spread over 45,000 square metres, as well as 6,500 square metres of offices, 6,400 square metres of housing, including shared accommodation, 13,000 square metres of outdoor space and 750 parking spaces.
As part of this diversified offering, French hotel group Suitcase Hospitality will operate a hotel under the TRIBE lifestyle brand, a franchise of the Accor group. This 4-star hotel has a total of 141 rooms, including 3 duplex flats, spread over 5 levels. The hotel also features a rooftop bar-restaurant on the 4th floor and a rooftop swimming pool on the 5th floor. Two premium areas offer unique views over Bordeaux and the Garonne. It is also certified by the Clef Verte/Green Key tourism label, the first international sustainable tourism label rewarding establishments that reduce their environmental impact.
TRIBE Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint-Jean builds on the success of TRIBE Paris Saint-Ouen. It offers a contemporary experience for modern travellers by redefining the standards of high-end hospitality with sophisticated design and affordable comfort. The hotel features a multi-purpose rooftop space, the Social Hub, which has become a meeting point for the local community, offering options for work, dining, socialising and entertainment throughout the day.
"We are delighted to be partnering with Suitcase Hospitality. The opening of the TRIBE hotel symbolises and embodies the spirit of the CANOPIA project, which is characterised by innovative concepts that cater for all types of use. A strong identity, a place that is trendy, designer and upmarket: these will be the assets of this hotel, which will be one of the spearheads of this future district. - François Agache, Managing Director, Development and Operations, Apsys
"This "TRIBE Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint-Jean" will be the 15th address in our hotel portfolio, and will join our collection of lifestyle hotels with the Mama Shelter Rennes and the TRIBE Paris Saint-Ouen. This partnership with Apsys is part of our development strategy in major French and European cities. We are delighted to be working with Apsys on this new district of Bordeaux, a unique urban regeneration project in France. We were immediately won over by its accessibility, its environmental approach and its functional mix, all of which reflect our values. For Bordeaux, a key tourist destination, our choice of the ACCOR group's TRIBE lifestyle brand was a natural one, as it meets the needs of both business and leisure travellers, as well as local residents. With this in mind, we wanted to renew our confidence for the fifth time in the teams of interior architect Michael Malapert, who has created a unique design perfectly in tune with the DNA of the Canopia district and the experience of a TRIBE Hotel". - Jean-Baptiste Martin, Co-founder of Suitcase Hospitality
"TRIBE is the brand that combines a sophisticated universe imbued with urban energy and a relaxed atmosphere that challenges the status quo of traditional hotels. It's a concept for travellers who are demanding in terms of product design, for foodies who want quality without complexity, and for modern nomads who are looking for convenience with a carefully crafted customer experience. With the future TRIBE Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean, we will not only be strengthening the ACCOR group's presence in the mid-range segment but also completing our lifestyle hotel offer. I am very proud of this new address in such a dynamic city. It will certainly boost brand awareness by entering new high-visibility markets." - Pauline Oster, VP TRIBE - Europe & North Africa
