Budget hotel chain B&B HOTELS has made its UK market debut with the acquisition of its first property near London's Heathrow Airport.
This strategic expansion is part of the company's overall aim to become a leading player in the UK budget/economy hotel sector, while aiming for global growth with a target of 3,000 hotels worldwide, with a focus on sustainability and affordability.
The acquisition was made possible through a collaboration with the Arora Group, an owner-operator of hotels in the UK, owning and managing a wide range of properties in the country's major business centres. By securing a long-term lease on the former Arora Park Hotel, the chain is not only expanding its portfolio of nearly 800 properties in Europe and Brazil, but also establishing a solid base for its presence in the UK. The hotel is located on Bath Road, a ten-minute drive west of Heathrow Airport.
"We are accelerating our development in all the countries we are already in while continuing to establish ourselves in new markets. We aim to become the leader in sustainable value-for-money hotels with an ambition of 3,000 hotels within ten years." - Fabrice Collet, president and chief executive of B&B HOTELS
"Looking ahead, the B&B HOTELS UK team remains committed to forging partnerships with existing hotel owners, developers, landowners, funds, and real estate owners to realize its expansion plans.
By leveraging local expertise and strategic collaborations, B&B HOTELS aims to establish a robust presence in the UK hospitality market and create memorable experiences for guests nationwide." - Patrick O'Connell, chief executive of B&B HOTELS UK"Arora Park Hotel was originally built and operated as a British Airways crew accommodation hotel before converting to a hotel serving all market segments. The building, facilities and its proximity to Heathrow Airport, lends itself as an ideal economy hotel and we are confident that B&B HOTELS will do a fantastic job in repositioning the property as one of the best value for money accommodation offering in Heathrow." - Sanjay Arora, chief operating officer and head of property at the Arora Group
