The group ADP and AccorHotels, through its subsidiary AccorInvest, have signed to renovate the Mercure hotel and and develop a new ibis Styles hotel at the Paris-Orly airport.
This new hotel complex located at the entrance to Orlytech will complete the offer of the tertiary district to the north-west of the airport platform.
The current Mercure Hotel will undergo a vast renovation and will have 189 rooms fully renovated in 2019. Its range of services will also be renewed, including a new catering area.
Its future neighbor, the ibis Styles hotel, will be built on 4 floors and its facade, designed by the architecture firm Arte & Charpentier, will mark the entrance to the airport platform from the A106 and RN7.
The 200 additional rooms of the ibis Styles hotel, in addition to those in the Cœur d'Orly district (Novotel Paris-Cœur d' Orly Airport, ibis Paris-Orly Aéroport and ibis Budget Paris-Orly Aéroport), will bring AccorHotels' accommodation capacity to 1,089 rooms in the airport area.
Serge Grzybowski, Director of Real Estate for the ADP Group, said: "These two hotel projects mark the renewal of the hotel supply at Paris-Orly airport; by the end of 2019, all the hotels located on the grounds of the ADP Group in Paris-Orly will offer only new rooms or rooms that have been completely renovated within the last three years.
John Ozinga, Chief Executive Officer of AccorInvest, added: "This dual operation is fully in line with AccorInvest's strategy... It allows us to invest in the midscale and economy hotel segments, following HQE standards, on a strategic territory generating excellent operational performance and promising to become one of the key business centers of Grand Paris."
Located 10 minutes from Paris, the Paris-Orly airport has multiple highway connections and an extensive public transport service that will be reinforced with the arrival of metro lines 14 and 18 of the Grand Paris Express and the installation of a high-speed train station.
Major modernization works are underway at the airport, including the ongoing construction of a building that will connect the existing South and West terminals by 2019.
Openings scheduled:
- Mercure: 2nd quarter 2019
- Ibis Styles: 4th quarter 2019
