Accor is adding two new hotels to its ibis and ibis Styles brands in the UK: ibis Coleraine and ibis Styles Burton-upon-Trent.
Firstly, a brand new ibis Styles hotel is currently under construction in Burton-Upon-Trent. Owned by FirstInn Ventures Ltd, the hotel will offer 81 rooms and suites to guests. Conveniently located less than two miles from Burton-Upon-Trent train station and around 13 miles from East Midlands Airport, construction of the hotel began in May 2023. It is expected to open its doors to guests in the second half of 2024 under a franchise agreement.
In addition to the Burton-Upon-Trent location, Accor has signed an agreement for an ibis hotel in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. This hotel will undergo a transformation from Premier Inn to ibis. Located just 15 minutes' drive from the coast, it is owned by Andras House Ltd, a long-standing Accor franchisee. This is their third Accor franchise in Northern Ireland. Andras House Ltd has recently completed a complete refurbishment of ibis Belfast City Centre to bring it in line with the ibis Plaza design concept. The new ibis Coleraine hotel will follow the same Plaza concept and is currently undergoing refurbishment of its 49 rooms. It is expected to re-open in early 2024 as ibis Coleraine.
These latest additions will bring the ibis brand portfolio in the UK and Ireland to a total of 119 hotels, comprising 64 ibis hotels, 33 ibis budget hotels and 22 ibis Styles hotels.
Accor's extensive portfolio of 5,400 properties in 110 countries includes brands such as Fairmont, Sofitel, Pullman, Mercure, Novotel and many others.
“We continue to see positive momentum in the growth of our ibis family of brands within the UK, highlighting the continued appeal of our economy brands. ibis brands remain the European market leader in economy segment and in the challenging macro-environment the strength of the brands in the market is rightly appealing to investors. We look forward to the future success of these hotels and the continued growth of our ibis brands portfolio in the UK and internationally.” - Philip Lassman, Vice President Development, Accor Northern Europe
